Eco Warriors
Our school is registered with the Eco-Schools programme which provides us with a simple framework to integrate environmental education and improvements into the running of the whole school.
Eco-Explorers are a group of pupils who are keen to show their commitment to our school, local and global environment.
We begin our year by undertaking an Environmental Review of our school. This includes looking at the school grounds, health and wellbeing and energy saving ideas. This helps us to draw up an action plan for the rest of the year.
This year we will be focusing on The Meadow area in the school grounds. We plan to build a Bug Hotel to help encourage more insects and wildlife to find a home at our school.
We are also looking forward to taking on a Platinum Challenge to highlight the impact of clothing on the environment across the world. ‘A Celebration of Vintage’ will mean we can explain to others how this affects our world and encourage recycling of clothes in our school.
We are looking forward to keeping green to keep our planet clean!
