Gilwern Primary School

Welcome to Gilwern Primary School

We're a village primary school for four to 11-year-olds situated in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park and walking distance from the River Usk and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Our pupils come from Gilwern and the surrounding area, and most have attended the Hopscotch Nursery within our school grounds.

  • BIG PEDAL EVENT

    Gilwern Primary School teamed up with Sustrans for the Big Pedal event. This lasted for 10 days where children were asked to try to reduce our carbon footprint by scooting or cycling to school.  The year 6 pupils undertook data collection at the start of each day to find out how many pupils ..
